Qualifications

Complete Full Application by making an appointment.
Convicted of at least (1) Violent Felony.
Signed legal consent to participate in Matthew Program from either Therapist or Parole Officer.
For youth: Parent/Guardian must be present with identification to participate. If Youth is in Fostercare, more documentation may be needed to participate.

Those that have been discharged from TDCJ or TJJD within (1) month (30 days) are given a Matthew Backpack. Each backpack that is given is FREE and full of an assortment of goodies and information about Housing and FREE Medical care.

For those being released from TDCJ, Identification Card from Prison will be needed. If you do not have your card, discharge paperwork with state Identification card will be accepted.

Those that are hoping to attend school and need direction, can receive a variety at Steadfast:

Special Education Tutoring by TEA certified instructors.
FREE School Supplies
FAFSA and Texas.gov application assistance for college.
